Merging background and classes, the new backgrounds are ‘life story’ - professional identity with experience bundled into one. Instead of ‘farmer’ that then became a wizard - your background is that you’ve studied to become a wizard, you’ve been obsessed with it since childhood probably. You’re not really a wizard yet, you’re more of a wannabe wizard (or more charitably, an apprentice).

Tier 1: Minions. Taken out in one hit. Tier 2: Elites. First hit causes Status, second hit defeats them. Tier 3: Unique. Use HP and Status like player characters.
